Hearing Assistive Technology for the Home

Hearing assistive technology for the home is primarily designed with two goals in mind. The first goal is to help people participate in leisure activities that they enjoy such as watching television or talking on the telephone. The second goal is to help individuals with hearing loss to better hear important alarm signals. For example, individuals with severe hearing losses can use special devices to let them know that the doorbell has rung or the smoke alarm has sounded.
